richard w whittaker

 Born and raised in Enterprise, Alabama. Graduated University of Alabama in 1969. He received his Juris Doctor degree from University of Alabama School of Law in 1971 and admitted to Alabama State Bar that same year.

Following graduation he clerked for Honorable William M. Steger, U.S. District Court, Easter District of Texas from 1971-1974. During that period became members of the bar in both Texas and Arkansas and practiced in both states with a law firm in Texarkana, Texas during 1974.

He returned to his hometown of Enterprise, Alabama at the end of 1974 and practiced law with Joe S. Pittman until 1993 when he opened his own practice. Mr. Whittaker's practice is primarily centered on Real Estate, Will and Estate, insurance, corporate and business issues.

Mr. Whittaker is a member of the State Bar of Alabama, Texas and Arkansas. He is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama. He has previously served as City Attorney for the City of Enterprise. He has served twice as a Bar Commissioner with the Alabama State Bar representing attorneys in Coffee and Pike Counties. 

He is active in church and community having served as Chairman of the Administrative Board of First United Methodist Church of Enterprise, on the Board of Directors of Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, and is on the Board of Directors of Coffee County Arts Alliance.

Mr. Whittaker has been in the business for over 50 years.
